History and Prayer of Saint Lazarus

History and Prayer of Saint Lazarus

Saint Lazarus was known for his compassion and kindness to the sick and suffering. His feast day is celebrated on December 17th in honor of his selfless dedication to helping others.

There once was a poor man named Lazarus who lived in a small village. He suffered from a terrible disease that caused his skin to become covered with sores, and he was unable to work or support himself. Despite his afflictions, Lazarus remained a faithful servant of God and prayed daily for relief from his suffering.

One day, a group of travelers arrived in the village, including a man named Jesus, who had heard about Lazarus' plight. When Jesus saw Lazarus, he had compassion and reached out to touch him. Immediately, Lazarus was healed of his illness and he got up praising God for his miraculous healing.

From that day forward, Lazarus dedicated his life to serving God and helping those who were sick or in need. He became known as a symbol of hope and healing, and his story has inspired countless others to follow in his footsteps.

Today, we honor Saint Lazarus on his feast day and ask for his intercession as we seek healing and strength in our own lives.

We pray for those who are sick and suffering, that they may find comfort and healing through God's grace. May Saint Lazarus' example of compassion and service inspire us to be instruments of God's love in the world, and may we always remember the power of faith and prayer to bring hope and healing to those in need. Amen.
