Former tax collector, Saint Matthew's life changed when he found Jesus. He left everything behind and became one of Jesus' twelve apostles. He is also known for writing the first Gospel, which highlights the teachings and ministry of Jesus.
On the 21st of September, we celebrate the Feast of Saint Matthew. It is a time to remember his life and dedication to spreading the word of God. It is also a time to reflect on the redemptive power and transforming grace of Jesus.
In honor of Saint Matthew, let us say this prayer:
Dear God,
We give thanks for the life and legacy of Saint Matthew. We are inspired by your willingness to leave your old life behind and follow Jesus. We ask that you help us to do the same.
We pray for those who feel lost, hopeless or forgotten. May they be reminded of the power of redemption and transformation through the love of Jesus.
We also ask for your guidance and wisdom as we navigate our daily lives. Help us to live in a way that honors you and spreads your message of love and compassion.
May we always remember the example of Saint Matthew and strive to live a life faithful and dedicated to his word.
Amen.
As we celebrate the feast of Saint Matthew, let us remember his life and his teachings. May we be inspired by his example and follow in his footsteps towards a life dedicated to God.
