History and Prayer of Saint Joanna

Saint Joanna (also known as Saint Joan the Myrrh Bearer) is a Christian saint who is believed to have been one of the women who accompanied Jesus during his ministry and who witnessed his crucifixion, burial and resurrection. She is mentioned in the Bible, specifically in the Gospel of Luke, as one of the women who came to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body with spices.

According to tradition, Saint Joanna was a wealthy woman, married to Chuza, a butler in the house of King Herod Antipas. After meeting Jesus, she became one of his disciples and supported him and his ministry with her resources. She was also one of the women who stayed with Jesus during his crucifixion and who went to the tomb on resurrection morning.

The feast of Saint Joanna is celebrated on May 24 in the Roman Catholic Church and on June 27 in the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Prayer to Saint Joan:

Saint Joanna, faithful disciple of Jesus and witness of his passion, death and resurrection, we ask for your intercession and guidance. Help us to follow in your footsteps and use our resources to support the work of the Church and the spread of the Gospel. Give us courage to remain firm in our faith, even in the face of persecution and difficulties. May your example of devotion and service inspire us to a greater love of God and neighbor. Amen.
