Saint Clare of Assisi was a devout Christian woman who lived during the 13th century. She was born into a wealthy family and grew up in Assisi, Italy. From a young age, Clare felt a strong calling to devote herself to God and live a life of poverty, simplicity, and prayer.
As a teenager, Clare heard the preaching of Saint Francis of Assisi and was inspired by his message of radical humility and service to the poor. She soon left her family's home and joined the Franciscan order, taking a vow of poverty and dedicating her life to prayer and service.
Clare lived a simple and humble life, rejecting all worldly possessions and focusing her attention on serving the poor and sick. She became known for her deep faith and devotion, as well as her miracles of healing and intercession.
Today, on August 11th, we remember Saint Clare of Assisi and her profound legacy of faith, prayer, and service. We honor her example of living a life dedicated to God and serving others, and we ask for her intercession in our own lives.
Let us pray:
Dear Saint Clare, you who lived a life of profound devotion and service to God, we ask for your intercession in our own lives. Help us to follow your example of humility, simplicity, and compassion, and to dedicate our lives to prayer and service to others.
We pray for those who are suffering in this world, for the poor, the sick, the oppressed, and the marginalized. May they find comfort and healing in your intercession, and may we be inspired to work towards justice and peace in our world.
We ask for your blessing on our families, our communities, and our world. Help us to live with love and compassion towards all, and to seek the good of others above our own self-interest.
Thank you for your example of faith and service, and for your intercession in our lives. Amen.
