First apparition of Our Lady of Fatima
It was on May 13, 1917 that the first apparition of Our Lady of Fátima to the Three Little Shepherds took place. Our Lady came to ask for prayers and sacrifices in reparation for sins committed against God and for the conversion of sinners.
The apparition of the Virgin Mary was repeated over the next five months and was the bearer of an important message to the world.
According to the accounts of the visionaries, the message that the apparition presented in Fatima was an insistent appeal to conversion, penance and prayer, namely the prayer of the Rosary.

O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, you were pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. We implore you, inspire in our hearts a fervent love for the recitation of the Rosary.
By meditating on the mysteries of the redemption that are recalled therein may we obtain the graces and virtues that we ask, through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer.
